Thanksgiving Games
Choose conversation and cooperative activities that fit around a meal, with no pressure to disclose personal experiences.
Choose a game that fits your group
Table conversation cards
Try “What small thing helped you this week?” or “Which food would you like to learn to cook?” Invite a pass and avoid family-history quizzes.
Find common ground
In groups of three or four, find two shared preferences. Keep answers voluntary and invite one finding per group.
Harvest word bingo
Use words such as pumpkin, apple, basket, leaf and soup; add enough distinct words for the generator. Choose a seated layout for a crowded table.
A practical running order
- 5 min: clear a dry space for cards.
- 10 min: one conversation card per pair.
- 15 min: shared bingo or small-group common ground.
Preparation and adaptations
Do not make gratitude, religion or family relationships compulsory topics. Pause the game when food is served.
Open each linked material page before the event and check its rules, group size and supplies. Print one test copy on the paper you will use. For a large gathering, give each small table its own rules and materials. Preview long text before printing, and keep a spare pen and a spare copy for the host.
Free printable materials and PDFs
The linked games and materials are free to use. Links open working makers or printable game pages, not a separate themed download bundle. Add your own seasonal wording where the maker supports editing. Choose Print and then Save as PDF in your browser; no account is needed. Some guides use fixed sheets, and the host must supply any personal facts or checked quiz answers.
