Choose an accessible reveal
Each player has rock, paper and scissors cards, or uses the familiar hand signs. Rock beats scissors, scissors beat paper, and paper beats rock. Identical choices tie. Check that everyone can distinguish the three printed labels; pictures or hand movement are optional, not required. Cards let seated players participate without quick gestures.
Run one match
A match has exactly three valid simultaneous reveals. Each reveal is one round. Both players secretly choose a card, place it face down, and turn it over on the host’s “reveal.” A round win earns one match point; a tie earns zero for both. Add the three round results. Higher match points wins the match; equal match points make the match a draw. A tied reveal still uses one of the three rounds.
Handle timing fairly
No one changes a sign after either card has been revealed. If a player reveals early or two cards are exposed accidentally, reset that reveal with no point and choose again. Do not award a point by judging whose hand moved fastest. A host can flip two preselected cards on behalf of the players. The choices remain the players’ decisions.
Arrange equal participation
For two players, play three matches and compare match wins. For three or four players, use the printed all-pairs schedule: each pair meets once, and nonplaying guests can record or rest. For five to twelve, make independent tables of two to four rather than a long elimination bracket. Run the same number of valid reveals at every table; do not compare raw totals between tables of different sizes.
Worked match and finish
In one match, A reveals rock against B’s scissors, then both reveal paper, then A reveals scissors against B’s rock. The round points are 1–0, 0–0 and 0–1, so the match is a 1–1 draw. Record a match win as two league points and a match draw as one each. After the published pairings finish, highest league points wins at that table, with ties shared. Invite players to compare decision patterns without claiming any gesture always guarantees victory.
